Peter M. Benham
Managing Director

Peter Benham joined NewStar in 2005 from Bank of America where he was a Senior Vice President in the Asset Based lending group. In that role, Peter focused on structuring and executing transactions for middle market clients to support working capital needs, turnarounds and debt restructurings. Previously, Mr. Benham was a Managing Director in the Asset Securitization group at Fleet Securities, Inc. and has experience with a variety of asset classes including trade receivables, credit card receivables, installment loans, equipment leases and intellectual property. Mr. Benham, who joined Fleet in 1993, completed the bank's commercial credit training program and spent over seven years structuring, underwriting and managing primarily leveraged finance transactions for clients in the commercial maritime, equipment leasing, aircraft and diversified manufacturing industries.

Mr. Benham has a B.A. in Economics from Colgate University.
