Robert T. Clemmens

Bob Clemmens serves as a Managing Director of the Company and Chief Credit Officer of Middle Market. He is a member of the firm’s Management and Underwriting Committees.

Mr. Clemmens has 35 years of banking experience in Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States, focused on credit and risk management. He spent the majority of his career with Barclays Bank Plc (and its subsidiaries), where he held various positions of increasing leadership and executive management responsibility. Most recently, he served as Managing Director and Head of Risk for the Americas with primary responsibility for group-wide credit and market risk across the Americas. He was a member of the U.S. Executive Management Committee, Chairman of the Credit Committee and a voting member of the Group Credit Committee. He also served as a member of the Credit Risk Committee of the Counterparty Risk Management Policy Group formed by a consortium of financial institutions following the collapse of Long-Term Capital Management and, as a member of the Risk Management Committee of the Bond Market Association.

Mr. Clemmens holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Laurentian University and an MBA from York University
