Michael Faherty joined NewStar's Middle Market division from Fortress Investment Group where he was a Compliance Officer in the Drawbridge Special Opportunities Fund. At Fortress, Mr. Faherty was responsible for the oversight and asset management of a portfolio of investments in all levels of the capital structure. Prior to Fortress, Mr. Faherty was an Assistant Vice President at Transamerica Business Capital. He focused on monitoring both asset based and cash flow transactions across a wide variety of industries. Before joining Transamerica, Mr. Faherty spent five years with GE Capital where he held various titles and was involved in all aspects of the credit approval process.

Mr. Faherty holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Bentley College.
