Peter Nightingale
Managing Director—Portfolio Management

Peter Nightingale has been in the banking industry for his entire 30 year career. Before joining NewStar Financial in 2007, he was a Sr. Client Manager for Bank of America in the New York market, with overall client responsibility for a portfolio of small to mid-cap clients and prospects located in the New York metropolitan area. In this position, he coordinated client team coverage and business development activities of investment banking, credit and other revenue generating products with these companies. Prior to Bank of America’s acquisition of Fleet Boston, Mr. Nightingale held a number of positions in the Middle Market group and Corporate Finance group at Fleet, including Segment Manager for the mid-cap segment of Fleet’s middle market. He joined Fleet’s newly formed Corporate Finance group in 1996 as Head of Loan Syndications, Sales and Trading and was part of the leadership team which significantly increased Fleet’s market position in the leveraged loan syndication and acquisition finance businesses.

Prior to joining Fleet, Mr. Nightingale spent almost 20 years with Chase Manhattan Bank and predecessor organizations in middle market banking and syndicated finance. His last position was as a managing director in Chase’s Global Syndicated Finance group with responsibility for the syndicated loan product for the global oil and gas group, high grade corporate clients, and certain leverage transactions. In 1991-1995, Mr. Nightingale headed Chemical Bank’s European Loan Syndications group in London, and in 1994 his team was named International Financing Review’s “European Syndicated Loan House of the Year”.

Mr. Nightingale holds a B.A from Brown University and an M.B.A. from NYU Stern School of Business.
