Bonnie is a graduate of Wellesley College with a B.A. in History. In 1975, she received her certificate in Landscape and Environmental Design from the Radcliffe Institute (now the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University Program of Landscape Design). She is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects, the Boston Society of Landscape Architects, and the Associated Landscape Contractors of Massachusetts. She is also a lecturer and lifetime member of the Landscape Design Critics Council, an affiliate of the New England Federation of Garden Clubs and a member of the Massachusetts Horticultural Society for which she has judged the Spring Flower Show on several occasions.

"In 1970, I wanted my newly purchased home properly landscaped. As the third landscape architect left declaring that this was a challenging project and that he would get back to us, I turned to my husband and said 'That’s ridiculous; there has to be a solution.' I decided I would find it myself and that fall enrolled in the Radcliffe Seminars Program in Landscape and Environmental Design. I immediately fell in love with the field.
"While I was overseeing the planting of the front of our house in 1972, an acquaintance called and said she needed a design for her house. She knew I was still a student but felt that my enthusiasm would make up for my lack of knowledge. I accepted the challenge and immediately delved into books on the subjects I had not yet covered in class. I was in business!
"When I started the company, there were very few landscape experts who had post graduate education in residential design, as well as knowledge of landscape construction and horticultural expertise. Today, many disciplines call themselves landscape design/build firms. Our designers have the professional training, knowledge and experience to design and build landscapes to my high standards. I have purposely kept the company small so that we can maintain close collaboration with our clients as well as within the firm. This assures the best results for both development of the custom design and exacting implementation of the master plan. It’s exciting that we have been in business for over 30 years. I feel so fortunate to have discovered a field I adore."
