Migrating neutrophil
This video shows a human white blood cell (neutrophil) migrating toward and eventually ingesting a bacterium (Staphylococcus). The video segment is from a movie made by David Rogers at Vanderbilt University in the 1950s. The shape changes and movements of the leukocyte are based on actin remodeling reactions studied by faculty in this Division.
