STRIVE intentionally seeks chronically unemployed older youth and adults in communities of concentrated poverty through an organized effort to recruit individuals for its intensive five week job readiness program. Operating in communities where unemployment rates more than double the state average, STRIVE has guided thousands of individuals who have never experienced sustained employment back to work, and help them keep their jobs...
…for less than $3,500 per client, STRIVE graduates return more than $30,000 to the local economy as opposed to costing the state more in either incarceration or public assistance. STRIVE graduates contribute their skills, consumer power, taxes, and a renewed sense of giving back to their communities."
