About the Phlebotomy & EKG Training Program

Phlebotomy (the drawing of blood for medical purposes) and EKG technology (recording the heart in the investigation of heart disease) are skills that are in constant demand by the health care industry. Thousands of trained technicians are needed throughout New England to perform these vital services.

At The Phlebotomy & EKG Training Program we prepare you for a rewarding career as an EKG Technician, Phlebotomist, or both. Our instructors take great pride in their field and have had many years experience in various aspects of the health care industry. Upon successful completion of one of our courses you will receive certification approved by the Massachusetts Department of Education to work as a Phlebotomist /Clinical Assistant or EKG Technician. Our training prepares you to work in hospitals, doctors' offices, or independently.

We offer three one-day-per-week courses: Phlebotomy Training, EKG Training, and the Phlebotomy Refresher course. The courses are on Wednesdays or Saturdays in Boston or Worcester. The Phlebotomy course is 14 weeks long, the EKG course, 2 weeks, and the Phlebotomy Refresher Course, 8 weeks.

Additional Benefits
Unlike other programs, we go beyond the basics. Our phlebotomy course not only trains you as a phlebotomist, but also in such important clinical skills such as urinalysis, blood-pressure measurement, the taking of throat cultures, and clinical assistance. You get in-depth, hands-on training from experienced instructors. The result: our graduates have better knowledge, better confidence, and better job prospects.

Assistance
At the end of the program, we offer job search assistance, helping you to locate the organizations in the region that are currently hiring. We also have a tuition payment plan. Instead of paying one lump sum, you may opt to pay $150 to hold a seat and then make weekly payments while classes are in session.

Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites to the Phlebotomy & EKG Training Program other than a high school diploma, GED, or current enrollment in a GED program. However, many of our students already work in the health care field and take our program to further upgrade their careers.
