The 9th Annual Positive Spin for ALS has two purposes:
The ALS Association Massachusetts Chapter has a unique place amongst local organizations raising money for ALS. That uniqueness can be summarized in two words: patients and caregivers. In addition to raising money for research to find the cause and cure of ALS, the MA Chapter directly serves over 200 ALS patients right now.
Our goal is to raise money. Whether you register to ride only or you register and ask for pledges, you'll be contributing to a good cause. We'll help you write letters, give you tips how to ask for it, and thank you effusively for raising what you can.
The people for whom the four rides are named, George Soerheide, Pete Farricker, Ken Melanson, and Scott Carlson represent the men and women who have had to battle this grim disease. Their stories, and the stories of thousands of other ALS patients across the country, put a face on this awful disease, and put this fund raiser into gear.
The rides will begin and end at the Longfellow Club on the Boston Post Road in Wayland, MA (directions and routes).
The ALS Association Massachusetts Chapter, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, is the owner and holder of a registered service mark "A Positive Spin for ALS."
